TRULY HAPPY…
to review this patient… doing extremely well, happy and smiling… after 5 years…

This 54 years old lady walked into our practice close to 5 years ago with bleeding gums, aching and mobile teeth, wobbly dentures and a sad smile. She had been declared unfit for fixed teeth as she had very little bone for implants. She had undergone almost all dental procedures ranging from root canals, crown & bridgework, periodontal surgeries and laser procedures… but all these could help her only for short periods. Her situation turned miserable when she was unable to chew her food properly as the remaining teeth were associated with pain and mobility… making her removable dentures wobbly. She had approached us hearing about how we were helping patients with little or no bone employing immediate loading basal implants.
We extracted all her teeth in a single sitting and in the same surgical sitting, employing Strategic Implantology (Dr Ihde Dental, Switzerland) and flap-less keyhole surgical procedures, we provided her fixed teeth within 72 hrs of implant surgery.

The smooth surface implants engaging the sinus walls, nasal floor and the tuberosity areas helped avoid complex bone grafting in addition to providing support in the distal maxilla. The mandibular nerve which was precariously positioned was bye-passed to provide support in the distal mandible.

She was provided interim metal-acrylic bridgework which we replaced after one year with metal-composite bridgework. The 1 year post op Xrays clearly showed excellent bone growth compensating for the bone loss which had occurred due to the acute periodontitis she suffered from.

Treatment Report

She has been reporting for regular checks once a year…

She reported last week for her review… after a period of close to 5 years of implant surgery… and the photos are self explanatory. The only problem I see with the prostheses is the slight fading off of the pink composite…

Her third dentition has transformed her life… and we’re more than happy to have contributed to this.
