A regular dental check-up is a systematic process that investigates many facets of your oral and systemic health that help to keep your teeth and gums healthy. You should have a regular dental visit at least every 6 months or as recommended by your dental professional. A regular dental visit has two sections - Checkup (examination) and Cleaning (oral prophylaxis).
The comprehensive dental exam of Smile Centre India is far more than just cleaning your teeth, It involves a complete and thorough patient examination covering everything from pre-existing conditions, gum health, screenings, and diagnostic exams to guarantee optimal oral health. This includes examination for jaw joints to check normal opening and closing, TMJ disorder, Bite evaluation, tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and Existing dental work examination. Optional diagnostic procedures such as OPG or other images will be discussed with you depending on your specific needs. Once your check-up is complete we will discuss our findings with you, letting you know all the treatment options available and providing you with a treatment plan for any general or cosmetic treatment required.
The dentist will perform a professional tooth cleaning to remove plaque or tartar from the teeth and gums. This will protect the teeth and gums from attacks by harmful bacteria that make their home in plaque and tartar. After this, the teeth are polished to remove any surface stains. The next step is flossing, Your dental professional will use floss to make sure the areas between your teeth are clean.
The final step of the routine dental checkup is scheduling your next one for a date six months in the future. Scheduling your next appointment right away is the easiest and most effective way to ensure that you don’t forget to have your dental checkup regularly. Your twice-annual dental checkup is not just an opportunity for a cleaning; it’s a chance to meet with your Smile Centre India team to make decisions about your treatment plan—or to start one.
The cost of a dental check-up depends on your dental plan and how much work is done during your visit. A routine teeth cleaning is covered in your dental plan. If we recommend additional dental work, we will provide you with an estimate of the cost ahead of time. Many dental procedures are partially covered by dental insurances.
The cost of a dental visit is nothing compared with the value of having healthy teeth!
